Love Birds Wedding Invitation

I met with Lara and Anthony in late September to discuss the theme of their fast approaching wedding.
Lara and Anthony are a very bubbly couple and they wanted this to shine through in their invitations, but at the same time be traditional to suit the wedding venue Florian.

The colour theme of Mint and Apricot and the love of birds and scrolls leant its self to a very soft and whimsical 50's feel.

To compliment their soft and whimsical wedding invitations, together the couple and I designed a tea towel wedding favor for their guests. This time incorporating the Black and White from the twine used on the invitations

I am looking forward to seeing photos from the happy couple on their big day!

Wild West Cowboy Wedding Invitation

I have been busy working on a few invitation templates so that i can offer brides, grooms and partygoers a more cost effective option other than custom design.

Here is a sneak peek for a really fun design, which could even be used for a great birthday invitation for any cowboy or cowgirl at heart.

Tuesday

Chelsea & James Custom Rustic Save The Date

I received a lovely email from Chelsea who had seen and fallen in love with my boyd baker house invitation and wanted something similar for her up coming wedding at Q Station.

We had a lot of information we needed to include for interstate guests who wanted to continue the festivities the next day and would require a place to rest their dancing shoes.

I custom designed the save the date invitation to fold up into a neat little card that was then slotted into a backing card complete with a magnetic strip on the back, all tied together with some twine and tags.

I am very much looking forward to working with Chelsea and James on the wedding invitation.

Ruth & Lindsay’s Irish Australian Wedding I Polkadot Bride

I was going to write about the beauty of the Boyd baker House after seeing Ruth and Lindsay's beautiful wedding featured on Polkadot Bride, but i think the intro that they have written is perfect.

I’m no stranger to the beauty that is Boyd Baker HouseI think what I have love most about the venue is the way in which each couple completely transforms it for their own wedding day. Today’s Australian Irish celebration was described by the bride as “Australian mod meets Irish retro.” and isn’t that just a little fabulous? If not a lot?

A post just in time for mother's day.
I recently had the pleasure of putting together a 60th birthday invitation for an amazing and selfless woman, who deserves very happiness in the world - my Mum.

The celebration was held in the beautiful almond grove at Watch Box Winery in the Indigo Valley. A little nod to the amazing staff that took care of us and kept our tummies fool of yummy food.

Love you Mum happy 60th x
p.s what a total fox.

Two in love

Liz and David are two in love. The happy couple moved to Sydney four years ago and are now flying home to London for their wedding at the enchanting Cannizaro House.
Having being together for over 10 years and engaged for 3 and a half years it was important to the couple that we capture their story and what a beautiful one it is.

Packaged together in a handmade transparent envelope, the invitations set sail across the seas spreading the word of the glorious day of muchness, merriment and mayhem that was waiting.

A lovely welcome note to all their guests took center stage on the order of service, designed to be folded into a paper plane after the service.

With Sydney being a very important part of their lives together a set of 3 table card designs where created staring iconic Sydney beach locations and used in place of table numbers.

Congratulations to a very loving and fun couple!

Irish Luck

Ruth and Lindsay came to me looking for a simple solution, representing both their individual interests and the unique surroundings of the Boyd Baker House where the cute couple were to be married. A focus on text always came up in our design discussions, while flipping through Ruth’s inspirational pictures, over a beer at the Standard hotel in Fitzroy. I could tell this wedding was going to be a lot of fun and a relaxed, simple invite was the key. Sneaking a Shamrock into the gumnut was the bride’s brilliant idea (like the saying goes, luck of the Irish).

Congratulations Ruth and Lindsay - I hope your day was as beautiful as you are together.

Jo & Johnny

Jo and Johnny (possibly the cutest couple ever) left the entire design of their wedding invitation in my hands. The only request was adding a lip and moustache motif like the one I had designed for their engagement card.  We discussed the idea of a package of sorts with  soft vintage/country feel, to suit the delightful surrounds of Glen Erin at Lancefield.
At 2am on a Tuesday night I woke up with an idea I thought would be perfect, I ran into the study - aka my office and sketched a pouch with a magnetic strip on the back.

After fine tuning the design to something that looked like a pouch with cards i sent the concept over to Jo, the idea was an instant hit with the soon to be bride and Groom and the rest just fell into place.

Monday

thank you

Scott and I have finally found the time to send out our wedding thank you cards, I think the saying is better late than never.

Incorporating the bush floral print I designed for the wedding invitations to create a lovely backdrop for the mini envelope and note card, wrapped up our wedding package nicely.

To everyone involved in the planning stages, our wonderful bridal party and guests thank you again for making our wedding day so rememberable!

Owl Hens Invitation

Not too long ago i had the pleasure of designing John and Jo's engagement invitations.
Continuing the theme of the owl, Jo's hens invitations were another playful interpretation of that amazing Karen Walker owl ring on her finger.

I hope you had an amazing night Jo x

Jo and Johnny- A Sweet Fitzroy Love Story

This morning i delighted to see a valentines day story on two of my nearest and dearest friends on
polka dot bride. The very talented Scout & Kat of It’s Beautiful Here captured the moment superbly.
See if you can spot two of my designs in the mix :)

Wishing every one a Happy Valentines Day x

Hens Invitation

Who doesn’t love a hen in a party hat!
Recently i had the pleasure of designing a hen's invitation for a dear friend of mine.
Jess mentioned the idea of using an image of hen, and i was left on my devises from there.
The key "themes" (for lack of a better term) i tried to incorporate into the invitation where feminine,
simple (no fuss), fun and a little silly, all key attributes that make Jess so special.

Wedding Invitation - Boyd Baker House

My very loving and supportive partner Scott and i recently got married at the Boyd Baker House situated in Long Forrest, Victoria ( just around the corner from Bacchus Marsh).

Of course i naturally focused on the wedding invitations, along with  the blog, the tea towel favours, kids treat/ activity bags, guest placement cards and photo props.

The wedding invitation was designed in collaboration with Scott. We focused on the unique nature of what Boyd Baker House had to offer whilst reflecting the soft/ relaxed vibe we wanted for our wedding.

My very talented sister at FYL handmade was kind enough to make the adorable heart glass magnets that accompanied the invitation.

Below are some absolutely beautiful images our photographer Jacinta Moore took of our special day, that i just had to share with you.
