PKD is one of the most common of all life threatening genetic diseases. It affects more people than the following diseases COMBINED!; Down syndrome, Cystic fibrosis, Muscular dystrophy, Haemophilia, Sickle cell anaemia and Huntington’s disease. Children of those with PKD have a 50% chance of contracting the disease.
The money raised from the Trivia night (to be held in honour of Peter Miller and those who have donated kidneys to PKD patients) was presented to The Monash University Melbourne’s Renal research department – to assist PKD research scientists with their important work.
